Our Story

This year Thomas Scott Salon and Spa is proud to be celebrating 35 years in business. Thomas Scott Salon and Spa opened its doors January of 1984 and continues to serve the beauty and health needs of the community. The owner Mary Jane Tabler is proud of her Women Owned Family Business, with three generations of Tabler women actively working in the salon. The salon is consistently listed in the Best of Frederick ratings and has received both regional and national recognition.

From a very early age, Mary Jane knew she always wanted to be in the beauty business. As a young girl, she started cutting her sister’s hair to learn the trade. Her love of hair and beauty continued to expand as she and her teams grew Thomas Scott Salon into the thriving business it is today. “I love the way a visit to the salon makes our guests feel!! The salon focuses on staff development with extensive education programs and training in the newest trends and techniques. Each and every staff member is committed to giving our guest the look that they desire and that smile that comes with a satisfied customer.

Thomas Scott Salon has been giving back to the community for as long as the doors have been open. We focus on a number of women’s charities (prevention of domestic abuse) and organizations that support animal welfare. Thomas Scott Salon and Spa also carries several product lines that have give back programs to causes that are close to our heart.
